The OMJ Foundation, a rapidly growing social impact organisation committed to youth development, has extended its support to all Senior High Schools within the Akuapem South Municipality as they prepare for the much-anticipated Inter-Colleges Sports Tournament, scheduled for the last week of November 2025 in Akropong-Akuapem. The tournament will feature participating schools drawn from three municipalities within Okuapeman—Akuapem South, Akuapem North, and Okere.

In a brief ceremony held across the beneficiary schools, namely, Aburi Girls Senior High School, Presbyterian Senior High Technical School-Aburi, Adonten Senior High School and Diaspora Girls Senior High School, the Foundation presented a variety of incentives—including sports kits(sets of jerseys), training equipment(footbals and volleyballs), hydration support, motivation packages, and logistical assistance—to boost morale and enhance performance. This initiative forms part of OMJ Foundation’s broader vision to empower young people through education, sports, and community development.

Speaking (Virtual) during the presentation, the Founder and President of OMJ Foundation, Mr. Osei Mensah Joseph (OMJ) emphasized that sports remain a powerful tool for discipline, leadership growth, and social progress.
He noted:
“Our young people have the talent. What many of them lack is support—access to the right tools, training, and motivation. As a foundation, we believe in nurturing their potential so they can become champions not only in sports but in life.”
The incentives were warmly received by heads of the various institutions, sports heads, and student athletes who expressed profound appreciation. Many highlighted that this marks the first time a local foundation has taken deliberate steps to invest in the sporting readiness of all SHSs in the municipality.
The Akuapem South All Heads of the schools collectively commended OMJ Foundation for its timely and impactful gesture, describing it as a significant boost to this year’s Inter-Colleges Sports Tournament.
Two basic schools: Oboadaka M/A JHS and Dumpong M/A Basic School also received sets of jerseys each. Their version of the sports coincidentally happens in the same week.

The Foundation’s intervention is expected to improve participation, strengthen competitive spirit, and ensure that the municipality performs strongly at both the zonal and regional levels.
The OMJ Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining this initiative annually while rolling out more youth-centered programmes championing health, education, and community development.

Mr. Osei Mensah finally pledged to provide additional jerseys, footballs, and special awards should the overall winning school emerge from the Akuapem South Municipality.
Outstanding athletes were also promised various scholarship opportunities. “We will be there in person to not only cheer you on but bring water and fruits to aid your course,” OMJ opined.
